David Allen – The Power of I AM – Part 17

David Allen - The Power of I AM

I AM an open door for all that I AM to enter.

My awareness of being magnifies all that I AM aware of being, so there is ever an abundance of that which I AM conscious of being. It makes no difference what it is that man is conscious of being, he will find it eternally springing in his world. The Lord’s measure (man’s conception of himself) is always pressed down, shaken together and running over. There is no need to fight for that which I AM conscious of being, for all that I AM conscious of being shall be led to me as effortlessly as a shepherd leads his flock to the still waters of a quiet spring.

The laws which now hold you in bondage to material things will perish (have no power over you) when you have come to an understanding of Spirit. “Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free,” said Jesus. As in the case of stomach trouble so in every case of inharmony whatsoever, you must work to overcome fear; “I will fear no evil; fevers, colds, contagion, heredity, signs, superstitions, have no power to harm me.” If you would be free, declare your freedom positively, with understanding. By mastering the principle of being, you will be enabled to apply the principle, thus freeing yourself. The “I AM” is the true self, the God within. As long as you say “I AM discouraged,” and name over different kinds of diseases that affect your body in different parts, you are making laws against yourself; “Out of the heart of man proceed evil thoughts;” and by affirming on the negative side you put off the day of your freedom. Your word goes out and returns to you in the form you gave it. You sent out the words, “I AM sick,” and your word vibrates through your system, carrying your decree to every atom of your being.

Now that my memory is restored . . so that I know I AM the Lord and beside me there is no God . . my kingdom is restored. My kingdom . . which became dismembered in the day that I believed in powers apart from myself . . is now fully restored. Now that I know my awareness of being is God, I shall make the right use of this knowledge by becoming aware of being that which I desire to be.

What we speak of as form, is everything in the organized personality that has shape and that serves in any manner to give expression to the forces within us. In the exercise of consciousness, we find that the “I AM” employs three fundamental actions. When the “I AM” looks out upon life we have simple consciousness. When the “I AM” looks upon its own position in life we have self consciousness, and when the “I AM” looks up into the vastness of real life we have cosmic consciousness.

Henceforth, stop using the “Truth . . exchanging this old worn out profitless habit for the Wisdom . . “I AM the Truth” . . From that elevation of consciousness everything you say or do is automatically blessed . . so it is also with the LIGHT . . I do not use it . . I AM the LIGHT” . . there is a vast difference in the results that will follow. And of course “I AM The WAY” I do not demonstrate it any more. If you contemplate the difference in “knowing the Truth” and “being the Truth” you will see the distinct advantage of this.

Every feeling makes a subconscious impression and, unless it is counteracted by a more powerful feeling of an opposite nature, must be expressed. The dominant of two feelings is the one expressed. I AM healthy is a stronger feeling than I will be healthy. To feel I will be is to confess I AM not; I AM is stronger than I AM not. What you feel you are always dominates what you feel you would like to be; therefore, to be realized, the wish must be felt as a state that is rather than a state that is not.

I AM the vine, ye are the branches. Whatever you attach to I AM, you magnify. I AM magnifies every state of mind. For example, if you say, “I AM poor, I AM lonesome, I AM miserable,” you magnify those mental conditions.

The First Commandment, “Thou shalt have no other gods before me,” is an admonition to look to one source for our good and it indicates that Me or I AM is that source. To this law all must render obedience. I AM the one who must obey it. If I lived in the constant awareness of my true identity, it would be impossible for anyone to interfere with my demonstration of harmonious, fruitful and eternal life, and if men always heeded the First Commandment, the journey into the Kingdom of God would be a quick one.

“I AM the good shepherd and know My sheep and am known of Mine. My sheep hear My voice and I know them and they will follow Me”. Awareness is the good shepherd. What I AM aware of being is the ‘sheep’ that follow me. So good a ‘shepherd’ is your awareness that it has never lost one of the ‘sheep’ that you are aware of being.

I AM nameless, but will take upon Myself every name (nature) that you call Me.  Remember, it is you, yourself, that I speak of as ‘me’. So every conception that you have of yourself . . that is every deep conviction you have of yourself . . is that which you shall appear as being; for I AM [is] not fooled; God is not mocked.
